In the wake of the explosion at a New York City building that killed two people last month, a plumber who worked on the building has admitted to rigging a gas line at the site under the orders of the landlord's son.

According to the New York Post, police sources say the unidentified plumber was responsible for the illegal gas line tap at the East Village building, yet blamed it on his boss:

Investigators suspect an illegal hookup in the building was removed from a gas line ahead of a Con Ed inspection on the day of the explosion, then reinstalled before the devastating blast about 30 minutes later.

The Post adds that the landlord's son, Michael Hrynenko, Jr., and Bronx contractor Dilber Kukic were inside of the building at the time of the blast. Kukic reportedly carried the injured Hrynenko to safety.

What's more, the Post reports that while the investigation into the incident is in its developmental phase, police still haven't determined whether or not they will make some sort of deal with the plumber in return for testimony.
