Some members of the Republican party hold a legitimate fear that laws against illegal immigrants that are anything but Draconian will place the mighty United States and its legal inhabitants in grave danger. Furthermore, Alabama Sen. Mo Brooks' claim that the Democrats are waging a war against whites hidden beneath their position on border security that's being led by none other than the conveniently African-American commander-in-chief himself, President Barack Obama. People who get paid to talk should still think before doing so.

During an interview with radio host Laura Ingraham this morning, Brooks gladly accepted the Wall Street Journal's "deportation caucus" crown of thorns. He then alleged that pro-immigration laws and Ron Fournier of the National Journal's assertion that the "fastest growing voting bloc" in the U.S. is under the impression that the GOP flat-out "hates them" are part of a covert operation being executed to exploit the supposed plight of whites in America:

This is a part of the war on whites that’s being launched by the Democratic Party. And the way in which they’re launching this war is by claiming that whites hate everybody else. It's part of the strategy that Barack Obama implemented in 2008, continued in 2012, where he divides us all on race, on sex, greed, envy, class warfare, all those kinds of things. Well that’s not true. And if you look at the poling data, every demographic group in America agrees with the rule of law, in enforcing and securing our borders, and everyone one of them understands that illegal immigration hurts every single demographic group. It doesn't make any difference if you're a white American, a black American, a Hispanic American, an Asian American or if you're a woman or a man. Every single demographic group is hurt by falling wages and lost jobs. Democrats, they have to demagogue on this and try and turn it into a racial issue, which is an emotional issue, rather than a thoughtful issue. If it becomes a thoughtful issue, then we win and we win big. And they lose and they lose big.

If that's the case, then how is the elaborate scheme truly a "war against whites"? If everyone is impacted, as Brooks says, how is this unholy war against whites and whites only? If playing the race card is what the Democrats have resorted to out of desperation, then what do he and other conservatives singing the same song sound like?

Prior to that, Brooks told the Wall Street Journal that its employees need to "be patriots" and think of "American families first," because lax border laws are threatening the sanctity of the Anglo-Saxon existence in America.

What he and everyone else seemingly overcome by a xenophobic culture of fear need to realize is that there are two harsh realities here. One is that whites need not worry about their position in the country, because they're still the majority. They are not oppressed; they are not in any jeopardy. Second, what conservatives like Ingraham and Brooks must accept is that the GOP hasn't given minorities a reason to support them in years. Years. Perhaps they took such offense to Fournier's comments because they're hauntingly accurate.

Would anyone else care to hear the thoughts of Allen West and other conservatives of color on the matter? Their insight on the alleged "war against whites" must be shared with the masses.
