Michael Brooks of Warren, MI has been charged with abuse after the death of his wife, Yolanda Reese-Brooks. Authorities have accused Brooks of letting his 400-pound wife wallow in her bed in her own waste. The 40-year-old Reese-Brooks passed away last week due to morbid obesity and other injuries.
According to the prosecutor's office, Brooks was the main caretaker for his wife after she suffered a crushed pelvis and ruptured bladder in a 2011 car accident. She had to be removed from the apartment by an emergency crew wearing protective gear. Brooks has been charged with second degree abuse of a vulnerable adult.
Reese-Brooks' four children are currently living with a relative.
