Authorities say an ex-FBI agent has been indicted on a mind-blowing 64 charges for drug offenses such as stealing evidence and occasionally using it.
The Associated Press reports that Matthew Lowry, a former agent in the D.C. field office, was the subject of a 70-page indictment filed in a federal court today. Furthermore, the Associated Press explained the potential fallout of the 33-year-old's alleged actions:
The charges against him caused federal prosecutors to dismiss charges against at least 28 defendants and notify 150 more that Lowry had participated in investigations targeting them.
The other pending consequences are seven years in jail for Lowry, should he be convicted. Either way, it's a bad look for the Bureau.
