An officer responded to the 600 block of SE Faith Terrace at about 7:20 a.m. for reports of a large snake. He found a dead cat in an empty lot on the street, and waded into wait-high brush, seeing the snake.

The officer wisely summoned backup, and police spokesman Sgt. Frank Sabol said the group was then able to remove it from its hiding place. The Post notes that pythons have been problematic across the area since last year. A word to the wise: keep a watchful eye over your cat.
