A man in Washington, D.C. has been accused of trying to kill his estranged wife using voodoo and his 16-year-old, mentally handicapped nephew. The relationship between Raymond E. Bradshaw, 63, and his wife has been ugly since 2010, when the couple separated. The woman filed for divorce, and Bradshaw launched his plot to kill her around the same time.

Back in September, Bradshaw allegedly told his sister that he was trying to kill his sister using voodoo, and another form of black magic known as "rootwork." When it didn't work, he decided that a contract job was the best route, so he tried to recruit his mentally handicapped nephew. He reportedly told the boy that he would receive a shorter sentence because of his age and condition.

Bradshaw was charged with solicitation of murder on September 13, abd his attempts to be realeased from custody have been denied.
