13-year-old Brea Persley was told by her science teacher allegedly barked "sit your nappy-headed self down." That's how we're reaching the youth, eh? But when the Inglewood's Century Academy of Excellence student complained about the comment, she was expelled.

Persley's mother, Shronda Williams, approached the school's principal, she was shocked at what she was told. The principal said she was pleased with the incident, because "bad things need to happen to mean kids."

Persley was expelled, and a letter sent to the family specified that it was because her mother had complained to the school. Century Academy is a charter school, so it can create it's own rules about expelling students and only answers to the accreditation board and lawsuits. As you can probably imagine, Williams plans on taking legal action.
