Authorities in Arizona say that an inmate broke out of prison to meet his girlfriend for a Valentine's Day date yesterday.

According to the Arizona RepublicJoseph Andrew Dekenipp reportedly climbed a 12-foot fence, maneuvered through razor wire and then climbed another fence to flee Pinal County Adult Detention Center in Florence, Ariz.. Dekenipp, 40, then navigated about 10 miltes to the Gallopin’ Goose Saloon & Grill in Coolidge, Ariz. to meet his girlfriend.

Dekenipp was arrested at the restaurant about three hours later, and the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said he received medical treatment for cuts sustained during his escape. He had been incarcerated since Jan. 10 for suspicion of vehicle theft , unlawful flight, driving on a suspended license and trafficking in stolen property.

He could be behind bars for even longer now that escape has been added to that list of charges.
