Warning: Potential spoilers ahead.

As production for Bad Boys 3 continues, fans have received a number of clues about the sequel's storyline. Yes, we know the film will follow Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett—played by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, respectively—as they attempt to take down a Miami drug lord; however, major plot details have been kept to a minimum—that is, until this week.

Recent photos and video taken from the Bad Boys 3 set suggest an OG character will say good-bye to the franchise. In one of the clips, Smith's Lowrey is seen hunching over a wounded Captain Howard, played by 67-year-old actor Joe Pantoliano. The character, who appeared in the first two Bad Boys installments, appears to have sustained a serious, possibly fatal, gunshot wound. Is this the end of Captain Howard? Or will he ultimately pull through?

You can check out the clips in the video above. There's also behind-the-scene footage of a car chase that plays out on the beach. Again, the details surrounding the scene have not been confirmed, but it's clear the film will deliver lots of action.

Bad Boys 3 is set to hit theaters Jan. 17, 2020. The film is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, and co-stars Vanessa Hudgens, Charles Melton, and Alexander Ludwig.
