Damien is back, and this time he’s heading to one of the scariest places on television: Lifetime. According to The Hollywood Reporter, former Walking Dead showrunner, Glen Mazzara, is developing a TV series based on the 1976 horror classic, The Omen. Simply titled Damien, this TV series will act as a follow-up to the original movie, and it will focus on an adult Damien as he attempts to face his true identity as the Antichrist.
Damien seems to be following in the footsteps of two massively popular movie-to-TV adaptations in Hannibal and Bates Motel. Not much was expected of either upon their announcement, but both have become critical successes for NBC and A&E since debuting. With Mazzara in charge of writing the scripts, Damien has a chance to be a success. Horror fans will just have to get over their fear of Lifetime first.
