Marvel's Oddball "Guardians of the Galaxy" Strike Cosmic Action Poses in New Poster

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past may be getting most of the press, but is Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy actually the comic book movie to beat this summer? With a tone that is decidedly off-brand, Guardians looks like a breath of fresh air for a genre that tends to play it safe. And today, Marvel further added to the film’s Internet hype by dropping a beauty of a poster online, courtesy of Mashable.
This poster elicits an old school adventure feeling with all of the main heroes striking an action pose. As Mashable points out, it’s almost a beat-for-beat remake of the iconic poster for the first Star Wars movie, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Hopefully, though, Guardians strives to be something wholly unique when it hits theaters on August 1.
