Quentin Tarantino Wants to Turn "Django Unchained" Into a Four-Hour Miniseries

Quentin Tarantino is notorious for shooting a lot of footage on all of his movies, and the film you usually see on screen is just a fraction of his original intention. Thankfully the director keeps all of his unused footage and attempts to get it to fans in any way he can. And during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, Tarantino revealed his intentions for all of the unused scenes from Django Unchained.

“I have about 90 minutes of Django that hasn’t been seen so the idea is to cut together a four-hour version, but not show it like a four-hour movie,” the director told the crowd. His intention is to “cut it up into one-hour chapters like a four-part miniseries and show it on cable television. People love those!”

Tarantino is also notorious for having multiple projects in the air that never see the light of day. As intriguing as more Django Unchained sounds, this might be just another idea of his that never gets realized. Still, who isn’t salivating at the thought of 90 more minutes of Django?
