Chance the Rapper is musically gifted and has demonstrated his ability to perform various genres, but that doesn’t make it any less surprising to see him show off some country skills via a Nelly cover.

The Coloring Book artist got to put his country music chops on full display while joining Jimmy Fallon’s new show That’s My Jam and taking part in the late night host’s “Musical Genre Challenge.” He was assigned Nelly’s classic song “Hot in Herre,” but in a country style.

Chance managed to make the diamond-certified track sound like a naturally twangy ballad, with a live band giving it a strong Southern twist. Chance inflected his voice in a way that a country singer would, transforming the song from a club banger to something that would fit right in at a rodeo.

Chance’s countrified rendition of “Hot in Herre” looks to be one of many hilariously impressive moments to be born from Fallon’s new show. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show will consist of different music-based challenges like the Musical Genre Challenge, where celebrity contestants will have to test their lyrical and vocal abilities by performing and remixing a variety of different songs. Other segments will be called Launch the Mic, Air Guitar, Don’t Drop the Beat, Slay It, Don’t Spray It, and more.

That’s My Jam is set to hit NBC on Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. ET. Check out the snippet of the show featuring Chance the Rapper’s country remix of Nelly’s “Hot in Herre” up top.
