A list of people who signed up to star in a reality show that would lead up to a trip to Mars started out with close to 200,000 people, and has since been cut down dramatically. The goal of the show (and mission) is to set up a permanent base on the Red Planet, starting in 2024. Problem is, those people won't be coming back to Earth. And they're okay with it.
