A new Facebook data study into couples shows when relationships on the social network were likely to end—and when they were likely last.

"About half of all Facebook relationships that have survived three months are likely to survive to four years or longer," says Bogdan State of Facebook Data Science. Most relationships ended in the summer months of May to July, and February saw break-ups hit a low. "Remember that this is not a statement about all relationships, though: many relationships end in their first or second month, and this effect is not captured in our analysis, which is concerned with longer-lasting relationships."
