CBS is finally putting the original CSI out to pasture. The network announced today the once monster crime drama will end this September after 15 years on the air. CBS entertainment chairman Nina Tassler calls it a retirement, but star Ted Danson won't be slowing down. He'll simply move over to CSI: Cyber, which debuted in March and will take over the OG's Sunday-at-10 time slot.

The Sept. 27 series finale will run two hours and bring the return of original cast members William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger. When it ends, Cyber will be the last remaining CSI show. CSI: Miami and CSI: NY went off the air in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

CSI will presumably spend its retirement years reminiscing about the glory days with the original Law & Order
