All of the late night talks shows are always based in Los Angeles and New York City. On special occasions they may spend a week or so in another city, but that's a special occasion. The mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu, wants to shake things up a bit.
Landrieu sent a letter to CBS CEO, Les Moonves, in hopes that the Stephen Colbert edition of The Late Show will set up shop in Louisiana's largest city.
“New Orleans is a brand unto itself and it is particularly attractive for the key demographic you are trying to reach," Landrieu said in the letter. "We offer you not only our unique culture and rich history, but attractive business incentives for film production.”
Now, this is highly unlikely. You'd have to get a cast and crew to relocate all the way down to N'awlins, and guests are often living in or just in town when it comes to New York and LA. However, this would be a breath of fresh gumbo tinged air and lest we forget New Orleans is the new Hollywood.
