ICYMI: Late last month, when Michael B. Jordan was cast to play The Human Torch in an upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, some people on the Internetz freaked out. Why? Not because of his acting (which is great, and everyone should watch Fruitvale Station!) or anything like that—but instead because he's black. Seriously. This is what people were pissed off about.
Then, there was also the news that House of Cards star Kate Mara will play Jordan's sister in the movie because their characters, Sue and Johnny Storm, are brother and sister in the comic. Reportedly the filmmakers have come up with an easy fix for their differing appearances—one of them is adopted—but it still wasn't enough for some comic fans, who still criticized the choice.
