A recent report from Russian news program Russia Today featured a conversation with hip-hop artist and former child soldier Emmanuel Jal, who spoke candidly about his life in war-torn South Sudan.

While the report itself is well-constructed, and features rich anecdotes from Jal's personal experiences as a child soldier, the production of it was lacking. During the story, a brief pan across the news studio showed a screenshot of child soldiers holding weaponry and sitting on tanks. While it was a fitting image for the report, the problem with the screenshot was that it wasn't a real picture. The shot had been taken from official screenshots provided by Metal Gear Solid V

Again, it's an embarrassing gaffe for Russia Today, but it doesn't make Jal's story any less credible. Watch it for yourself on the Russia Today website. The Metal Gear screenshot appears at the 5:50 mark.
