There are two things about SCEA’s recently announced fighting title that will immediately standout to any gamer, the elongated title and its similarity to Nintendo’s Smash Bros. franchise. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is a four-player pseudo fighter that utilizes characters from exclusive PlayStation games. SuperBot developed multiple characters with strength and weaknesses that play off of each other plus 3 levels of power-ups that are both effective and entertaining. Check out the recently announced list of characters.
Parappa
From the game: Parappa The Rapper
The Japanese characters strength is short range fighting. He’s one of the strongest characters in the game and his level up super’s are deadly. His Level 1 is a big kick that can catch multiple players. Level 2 is a skateboard where he travels across the whole screen and kills everyone. Level 3 is very reminiscent of the original Parappa game with a full boom box animation.
Kratos
From the game: God of War
The GoW star is tailor made the game. His attacks are very familiar. He utilizes chains, bow and arrow whether on the ground or in the air. His supers include a big sword attack, a huge tornado attack (which can hit anyone above or below him) and the ever-powerful Golden Fleece armor.
Sly Cooper
From the game: Sly Cooper
Sly has a lot of up close attacks but his defense is kind of lacking. To make up for that, the developers equipped him with the ability to turn invisible. He can place himself in different locations and then use his level 1, 2 or 3 supers to inflict damage. He is also the only character who can steal AP from other characters without attacking them via the use of his cane.
Colonel Radec
From the game: Killzone
Of course being from Killzone, Radec’s strength is busting his guns. Radec utilizes his sniper rifle, grenades, and flamethrowers to inflict damage from long range. If you leave him alone in the corner, he will pick the opposition apart. Radec’s close quarters game is decent as well, he has a knife attack that’s effective and he can also turn invisible.
Fat Princess
From the game: Fat Princess
As you would expect, senorita fatty is all about food and up close attacks. This big girl does not like to work much. Just like the Fat Princess game, she uses her minions to put in most of the work. She has the maid, the butler and the warriors at her disposal to wreak havoc on the other three players. Her supers work along those lines as well. Level 1, she throws out a cake, gets excited and runs to it…mowing down everyone in her way, level 2 sees her getting on a chicken, riding around and attacking other players and with her level 3 power up she calls her army to attack everyone, making it almost impossible to escape.
Sweet Tooth
From the game: Twisted Metal
Sweets is a hard hitter in close proximity, who likes to control the space around him by throwing mines, blasting enemies with a shotgun or sipping a brew and blowing fire. His supers are very crucial. Level 1 allows you to use a rocket launcher, level 2 a flamethrower and level 3 sees Sweet Tooth getting into his truck and murking everyone.
