Ever since Marvel announced a new Fantastic Four film set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have been lobbying for real-life couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt to take on the roles of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.

During an appearance on the Howard Stern Show this week, Blunt was asked by the longtime radio host if she was going to appear in the forthcoming Fantastic Four movie. The 38-year-old actress firmly squashed the rumors.

“That is fan-casting,” Blunt said. “No one has received a phone call. That’s just people saying, ‘Wouldn’t that be great?’”

Blunt maintained that she has little interest in appearing in a superhero movie until she finds a character that connects with her.

“It’s not that it’s beneath me,” Blunt told Stern. “I love Iron Man and when I got offered Black Widow I was obsessed with Iron Man. I wanted to work with Robert Downey Jr.—it would’ve been amazing … but I don’t know if superhero movies are for me. They’re not up my alley. I don’t like them. I really don’t.”

“It’s been exhausted,” she continued. “We are inundated—it’s not only all the movies, it’s the endless TV shows as well. It’s not to say that I’d never want to play one, it would just have to be something so cool and like a really cool character, and then I’d be interested.”

Only time will tell if Blunt enters the MCU. In the meantime, her and Krasinski’s horror sequel, A Quiet Place IIopens in theaters on May 28. The movie will then become available to stream on Paramount+ 45 days after its opening theatrical day.
