In the years since The Office went off air, fans have had to settle for whatever scrap of information they could glean about the series, jump on even the slightest hint of a reunion or settle in for their umpteenth series rewatch. All these years on, however, there are still new things to learn about the show, as is becoming clear in the podcast Office Ladies

The podcast allows co-hosts and former Office stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey to talk about what went into making the series. And Fischer revealed a deep bit of lore that's sure to satisfy long-time fans. Fischer revealed that she crafted an entire backstory of her engagement to Roy, the warehouse worker with anger issues who Fischer's Pam was tangled up with at the beginning of the series.

The on-screen pair had been engaged for three years and Fischer justified that by creating a story where Pam was saving up for the wedding only to have Roy blow the money on a pair of jetskis.

"In my head I came up with the reason that they’ve been saving money for the wedding and about a year into their engagement, without telling Pam, Roy spent the money on a pair of WaveRunners with his brother," Fischer said. "And Roy was like, 'we're going to have so much fun with these' but it broke Pam's heart, and I told Greg [Daniels] this story... and he was like, 'Oh my gosh I love that. We've gotta put that in — the WaveRunners.'"

The crafts in question come up during the "Basketball" episode, where the office workers and warehouse crew play a game to determine who will have to work over the weekend. Fischer clarified that the actor who plays Roy is nothing like his character and shared that they are real-life friends.

"David [Denman] and I really hit it off... especially in this episode," Fischer said. "It was weird because I think I had spent a lot of time talking to John Krasinski between scenes and now I was talking to David. He became a really good friend of mine outside of The Office, and I think it was probably a weird thing for people to imagine that one of my best connections on the show was... my jerk boyfriend Roy."
