Jake Paul, who is not Logan Paul, has been charged in connection with his headlines-absorbing appearance at a Scottsdale, Arizona mall amid unrest last month.

As spotted by NBC News, Paul has been charged with criminal trespass and unlawful assembly, both misdemeanors. In a statement, Scottsdale police said they had received hundreds of tips regarding the incident, with their ongoing investigation having concluded that Paul was indeed "in attendance."

According to police, the 23-year-old remained inside the mall "after an unlawful assembly was declared."

In a previous statement dated May 31, Paul responded to the news coverage surrounding his appearance, which was heavily criticized for potentially taking away from the actual issues at hand.

"To be absolutely clear, neither I nor anyone in our group was engaged in any looting or vandalism," he said at the time, adding that he and his film crew had spent the day "doing our part to peacefully protest" while also filming "everything we saw." The general consensus, however, was firmly in the Fuck This Dude camp.

Meanwhile, Logan Paul—who is not Jake Paul—briefly addressed his brother's actions in a recent Impaulsive episode in which he also urged his followers to be actively anti-racist.

Of course, none of this really matters. Instead, why not give your energy to continuing the demonstrations nationwide as part of a larger push for social justice?
