Ahead of its years-anticipated launch next month, Naughty Dog has shared the latest trailer for The Last of Us Part II. Offering a hint of what to expect from the story, the story-centric clip shows Ellie on the path to revenge as Joel laments the collapse of society. It's a dark, brooding look, indicating the creative team isn't pulling any punches when it comes to the sequel.

Set for release on June 19 for the PlayStation 4, the game was originally scheduled for February before it was moved to May 29 to allow for extra polish. When the coronavirus pandemic presented further production issues, TLOU 2 was delayed from May indefinitely. Thankfully, it only needed around three weeks to declare a new release date, and it was recently confirmed the game was officially content-complete and wrapped.

The Last of Us Part II, which follows the PlayStation 3/remastered PS4 classic that arrived in 2013, is set to be something of a last hoorah for the PS4 ahead of the launch of the PS5 later this year. Before the next generation of consoles arrives, Sony has one last first-party title on the way with Sucker Punch Productions' Ghost of Tsushima arriving a month after TLOU on July 17.
