Tony Hawk is celebrating his birthday today by gifting his fans with the news of the imminent launch of a remastered version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2.

Hawk shared the cover art with the announcement that the game will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on Sept. 4.

The announcement comes five years after the launch of Pro Skater 5, which didn't quite live up to the hype of previous installments. The remaster hopes to bring back the magic and luster of the first two iterations that came out all the way back in 1999 and 2000, respectively.

Hawk teased the news of the Pro Skater 1 + 2 remake earlier today when he texted fans out of the blue that an official announcement would be coming soon. It was the same phone number that he shared last year on Twitter.

Last year Tony Hawk shared his phone number on Twitter. Using that number he just sent a mass text message announcing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 will be remastered and released.
