Last month, Top Boy's executive producer, Drake, hinted that a new season of the show would be hitting our Netflix screens in 2020, and now the streaming service has confirmed that this is, in fact, true.

We’re back. TOP BOY Season 2 begins filming this spring. @AshleyWalters82, @TheRealKano, @onlymikes_ and @LittleSimz will return as Dushane, Sully, Jamie and Shelley. Stay tuned.

From following Sully (Kano) and Dushane (Ashley Walters) in their quest to run Summerhouse in the first two series on Channel 4, to last year being introduced to other impactful characters such as Jamie (Micheal Ward), Jaq (Jasmin Jobson) and Modie (Dave), Top Boy has now officially taken the UK and the rest of the world by storm. And after being left with the ultimate cliff-hanger at the end of last season, all of our questions will be answered at some point this year.

Micheal Ward took to his Instagram to announce the news, saying: "If you don't know, now you know. So happy I can finally share with you that we've been confirmed for another season and I cannot wait to start filming this for all of us."

Drake also shared a similar image with his name watermarked over the script and a straightforward caption: "WE BAAAAAAAACK."

2019's Top Boy saw it voted as one of the most popular shows on Netflix. And with the popular faces of Little Simz, Kano, Ashley Walters and Micheal Ward all returning, it's expected to reach even higher levels this time round.
