The first trailer for the highly anticipated, Fast & Furious 9, will premiere on Friday. As a preview, Universal decided to drop a teaser to hold the Fast Family over until the trailer premieres.
In the teaser, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) adjusts to his new life as a father and husband to wife, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). It starts off with Dominic sharing his love for mechanics with his son. It then transitions to him putting the child to bed. After telling Brian that he will "always be in his heart," Letty walks into the room.
When Letty enters, she gives her stepson the cross necklace that Dominic gave her.
"I have a gift for you. Your daddy gave me this, now I'm going to give it to you. It's for protection from what's coming," she said before the trailer ends.
The ominous conclusion to the teaser is bound to have fans anxious to see what will be revealed in either the movie or its first trailer. It also adds to the feeling that this necklace will hold major significance in the movie, as it's also featured on the film's poster.
Last month, Universal Pictures announced the trailer launch will take place in Miami on Jan. 31. It will feature performances from Fast & Furious 9 stars Cardi B, Ozuna, and Ludacris, along with sets from Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth.
