Last year, on an unremarkable November morning, a small fire in Butte County, California, quickly erupted into a two-week inferno that claimed 85 lives.

We all remember seeing footage of the fires last year – skies, awash in orange, filmed by evacuees, gridlocked in traffic.

Compiling first-hand footage and accounts from survivors and first responders, Fire In Paradise vividly captures the tumult of the country’s deadliest wildfire in over a century.

Fire In Paradise airs November 1 on Netflix Australia.

Having peaced out from his princely duties to party among the people, Hal (Timothée Chalamet) is forced to take the throne after the deaths of his father and brother.

The newly crowned King Henry V must navigate alliances – “a king has no friends, only followers and foe”, prepare for battle, and butt heads with his closest friend and mentor, the knight John Falstaff (Joel Edgerton).

The King is based on Shakespeare’s Henriad plays and is co-written by David Michôd and Joel Edgerton. Joining Chalamet and Edgerton as cast mates are Sean Harris, Ben Mendelsohn, Robert Pattinson, and Lily-Rose Depp.

The King airs November 1 on Netflix Australia.

Imagine surviving the Treblinka death camp during the Holocaust and fleeing to the United States, only to see a Nazi guard who tortured and killed countless Jewish prisoners, right there with you.

The Devil Next Door chronicles the later years of retired Cleveland autoworker John Demjanjuk, who was identified by a group of Holocaust survivors as “Ivan the Terrible” and extradited to Israel to stand trial for crimes against humanity.

The “trial of the century” caused a global media frenzy, as Demjanjuk’s claims of innocence and mistaken identity threatened to overshadow the suffering of his alleged victims.

The Devil Next Door airs November 4 on Netflix Australia.

He’s great behind a desk, but how will he go on a stage? It’s been a hot minute since SNL, after all…

For his first Netflix stand-up special, seasoned Late Night host Seth Meyers takes a break from lampooning the Trump administration to riff with the crowd at the Pantages Theater in Minneapolis.

If you’re wondering about the show’s title, Seth’s wife gave birth to their son on the floor of their apartment lobby last year.

Seth Meyers: Lobby Baby airs November 5 on Netflix Australia.

Adapted from a crime novel by Susanna Jones and produced by Ridley Scott, Earthquake Bird is a psychological thriller exploring a deadly love triangle in an idyllic 1989 Tokyo.

Translator ex-pat Lucy Fly (Alicia Vikander) is desperately trying to shed her past. Ensconcing herself in Japanese language and customs, she falls in love with Teiji (Naoki Kobayashi), a similarly troubled photographer.

The fantasy splinters when Lucy is blamed for her friend Lily Bridges’ (Riley Keough) disappearance.

Earthquake Bird airs November 15 on Netflix Australia.

Newsreels abound with stories of torturous factory conditions, microplastics in marine life, and black market THC oils. Yet we continue to blindly shell out dollars for convenience and lower prices.

Helmed by the team responsible for Rotten and Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Broken will shed light on the hidden fraud, corruption and negligence behind some of the world’s favourite merchandise.

Purposely timed to coincide with the capitalist frenzy that is Black Friday, Broken will make you rethink your future cosmetics, e-cigarettes, furniture, and plastics purchases.

The OG OGs Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci star in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, a film about – you guessed it – gangsters in America.

De Niro plays WWII vet Frank Sheeran (the Irishman), who from his retirement home recounts how his younger self rose through the ranks – working for local mafioso Russell Bufalino (Pesci), and eventually enforcing for the notorious Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino).

In true Scorsese fashion, The Irishman clocks in with a 3h29 duration time. God bless pauseable content.

The Irishman airs November 27 on Netflix Australia.
