The pop superstar is set to star in a film about the Gucci family dynasty and the murder of Guccio Gucci's grandson, Deadline reports. Ridley Scott, the legendary filmmaker known for directing AlienBlade Runner, and Gladiator, will helm the Gucci murder movie. Giannina Scott, perhaps best known for her role as the wife of Maximus in Gladiator, will produce the film alongside Scott.

Here's what we know so far: Roberto Bentivegna will write the script for the film, which will take inspiration from Sara Gay Forden’s book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.” Gaga will portray Maurizio Gucci's ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani. Reggiani, a woman scorned after her ex-husband abandoned her for a younger woman, was tried and convicted of an assassination plot against him in the 90s. She served 18 years in prison before she was released in October 2016.

A Star Is Born was Gaga’s first foray into the film world. She won an Oscar for writing the track "Shallow" for the film and even received a best actress nomination for her efforts.

Gaga is known for her ability to bounce back. Back in October, she fell off the stage during a performance in Las Vegas, but got right back up and even joked a little about the mishap.

"We're like Rose and Jack from Titanic," the artist said.
