Lamar Odom's marriage to Khloé Kardashian resulted in a relationship that further forced him into the public eye. Yet before getting serious with Khloé, Lamar had a horrible break up from another famous starlet.
During an episode of TV One's Uncensored, Odom says that he was dating actress, Taraji P. Henson, before getting into a relationship with Khloé. The NBA champion opens up the topic by showing admiration and respect for Henson. "She was a little older than me, but I learned a lot from her because that was the most significant relationship as a grown-up that I had with a black woman," Odom said. "I used to carry her picture on the road with me." Although he claimed that she gave him "inspiration," they didn't separate on good terms. "Things ended with Taraji because of me being an immature punk," Odom continued. "I didn't know how to tell her I was falling in love with another woman named Khloé Kardashian."
Odom and Khloé's love story is well-documented. The two got married just a month after meeting each other in 2009. The couple stayed together until 2013, but Odom admitted on several occasions that he wasn't the best husband to the reality star. "I had broken my vows with Khloé so many times it’s just impossible for me to remember them all. I don’t know why Khloé stayed with me," Odom wrote in his book, Darkness to Light. He also admits to threatening to kill her while high on drugs.
In his book, Odom recalls a time when he was mixing cocaine and ecstasy in his "man cave." The combination caused severe hallucinations that made Khloé call friends over to calm him down. This sparked drug-induced rage that he took out on his wife. "Khloé came down and knocked on the door. I opened it suddenly and grabbed her forcefully by the shoulders, which frightened her," Odom wrote. "What the fuck are you doing?' I screamed, out of my mind. 'You trying to embarrass me in front of my friends? I’ll fucking kill you! You don’t know what I’m capable of!'"
