Like the other entries, Toy Story 4 is proving to be a heartwarming tearjerker.
Following the film’s premiere, moviegoers took to Twitter to share their delight in the latest installation. Thursday night's preview has already brought in $12 million, making it the second-best preview gross ever for an animated release, according to the Hollywood Reporter. With an expected $150 to $200 million domestic debut, Toy Story 4 is set to have one of the biggest openings of all-time for an animated feature film, which will also make it one of the biggest box office debuts of the year.
The fourth chapter of the animated series will be supported by a worldwide launch in other important markets, including big money-maker China. Toy Story 3, which arrived in June 2010, opened to an impressive $110 million and eventually grossed over $1 billion worldwide. If Toy Story 4 reaches its anticipated mark, it could nearly double the debut of its predecessor.
