The 2020 class of Hollywood Walk of Fame honorees has been unveiled. Dave Chappelle is among the latest batch of celebrities to receive a star along the popular California tourist destination.
"This year's choices were particularly unique," Selection Committee Chair and Walk of Famer Vin Di Bona said in a news release Thursday. "We were able to recognize the talents of thirty-five artists who have already built a legacy here in Hollywood. Also, we were able to celebrate many new talented artists who've touched our hearts in film, television, radio, and a variety of musical categories."
Chappelle is joined in next year's roster of honorees by Mahershala Ali, Spike Lee, Julia Roberts, Batman, Octavia Spencer, Christina Applegate, Cindy Crawford, Terry Crews, Wendy Williams, Andy Kaufman (RIP), 50 Cent, Elvis Costello, Alicia Keys, and more.
Ceremonies for these star dedications, per the release, have not yet been scheduled.
Chappelle, as announced last week, will make his Broadway debut in July with a five-night run at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Ticket sales kicked off Friday.
In related Hollywood Walk of Fame news, Star Wars icon and current voice of Chucky, Mark Hamill, recently kicked off online calls for Trump's frequently defaced star to be replaced by one for the late Carrie Fisher, i.e. someone who actually deserves one.
