The Battle of Winterfell captivated millions when it aired on HBO last night, and it hasn't taken long for Game of Thrones fans to come up with some theories about everything that took place.

*Spoilers ahead*

Season 8 Episode 3, titled "The Long Night," saw the Night King meet his demise at the hands of Arya Stark, and now some fans have come to the conclusion that the show hinted at how the battle would end all the way back in Season 3. Just as the Night King prepared to kill Bran Stark after stabbing Theon Greyjoy, Arya swooped in with the final blow. In a cool throwback to a previous moment in the series, she ultimately bests him with the same move she previously used to end her fight with Brienne, but fans are pointing even further back to an interaction she had with Lady Melisandre in Season 3.

"I see a darkness in you," Melisandre told Arya in Season 3 Episode 6. "And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you'll shut forever." Meryn Trant, whom Arya killed in Season 5, had brown eyes, as did Walder Frey, RIP'd in Season 7, while the Night King had blue eyes. This already has fans speculating that the third victim of Arya will be none other than Cersei, who has green eyes.

This has already resulted in some theorizing that Arya is none other than legendary figure Azor Ahai, contradicting what many had beleived was a title belonging to Jon Snow. Game of Thrones continues with Season 8 Episode 4 on Sunday, May 5.
