Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale star Luke Perry died Monday morning at the age of 52 after suffering a stroke. "He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends," Perry's spokesperson Arnold Robinson said in a statement when the news broke.

Perry rose to prominence in the early '90s for his role as Dylan McKay in Beverly Hills, 90210. Following his role in the iconic drama series, he become something of a teen idol, leading to appearances in films including Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1992. He found success later in his career as part of the main cast of Riverdale, which is currently in its third season.

It is currently unclear if Perry had begun filming on Season 4 of Riverdale, which is currently in production. He recently wrapped filming on a role in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is scheduled for release this July. The appearance will mark his final film role.

In response to heartbreaking news, fans and peers flooded social media with their love and support for his family. Among those to share their love for the actor were Molly Ringwald, Patricia Arquette, and Joss Whedon. Check out their responses below.

When I was lucky enough to work with Luke Perry I told him about the pillow of his face I used to sleep with and he yelled "You are such a weirdo!" at me and it was the best. Sending love to his friends and family.

Luke Perry was a great actor and truly one of a kind. Watching him on 90210 was one of the reasons why I wanted to move to LA. Thinking of his family and friends on and off the set. Rest in peace.

The first time I met Luke Perry we talked about what kind of movie we wanted “Buffy” to be. I asked if he’d ever seen “Near Dark” and he gave me a look of HOW DARE YOU SIR and I knew we’d get along. Funny, committed, and always gracious. He shouldn’t be gone.

Dearest Luke,
I will forever bask in the loving memories we've shared over the last thirty years. May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just like you have done here, for those you leave behind.

Crushed. Luke Perry was truly a great guy. Warm, kind, generous and hard working. We met very young, I witnessed the grace with which he became a pop icon & parent. He’s been an awesome example of how to stay decent in a swirl of crazy. Love to his family❤️ https://t.co/bGlTX8mNbB
