Tristan Thompson sympathizers are becoming increasingly vocal on social media.
Earlier this month, it was reported Khloé Kardashian broke up with Thompson after he allegedly cheated on her with Jordyn Woods—a longtime friend of the Kardashian family. As the days went by, it became increasingly obvious that the rumors were at least somewhat true as Khloé and members of her inner-circle called out Woods for her betrayal.
"You ARE the reason my family broke up!" Khloé tweeted at Woods on Friday, shortly after her appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith's Red Table Talk.
Woods told Smith it was Thompson who had initiated the kiss, which allegedly occurred during the NBA star's house party. Many people wondered why Thompson would make such a move on a Kardashian family friend ... and in front of witnesses. Did Thompson truly believe he would get away with the kiss? Or was he actually trying get caught? A new hashtag on social media suggests the latter.
As more details surrounding this scandal emerge, a growing group of people have shown their support for the Cavaliers player with the hashtag "#FreeTristanThompson." The theory behind the hashtag is pretty obvious: Thompson made a move on Woods in an attempt to sabotage his relationship with Khloé, whom he had cheated on the past. The fact that Khloé has yet to publicly condemn the father of her child is leading some to believe Thompson's plan didn't work; so they've decided to take matters in their own hands and call for Thompson's freedom with a flood messages that range from shady to sincere.
