All 13 Actors on ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Poster Got Their Names on Top—Except Danai Gurira (UPDATE)

The most prominent 'Black Panther' star to survive Thanos' snap is the only one of 13 actors who didn't get top billing on the 'Avengers: Endgame' poster.

UPDATED 4:00 p.m. EST: Marvel Studios has corrected its error of making Danai Gurira the only actor on the new Avengers: Endgame poster whose name wasn't listed at the top. "She should have been up there all this time," the company wrote.

She should have been up there all this time. Check out the official Marvel Studios' #AvengersEndgame poster. @DanaiGurira #WakandaForever pic.twitter.com/5V1veWMxlz

See original story below.

If you had to look at the new Avengers: Endgame poster and guess which one of the actors wasn't billed at the top, you probably wouldn't need more than one shot at it. The world can be awful in remarkably consistent ways, so it might not shock you to learn that the only black woman on the poster was the only one left out of the top billing.

Danai Gurira plays Okoye, general of the Dora Milaje in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Black Panther standout is one of the most prominent characters left from Marvel's most critically adored movie following Thanos' snap. Gurira herself is a SAG Award winner and a Tony-nominated actress/playwright who is also well-known via her 80+ episodes as a lead on The Walking Dead.

And yet the Avengers: Endgame poster features 13 characters and just 12 actors' names at the top, making Gurira the sole omission. Even voice actor Bradley Cooper, included on the poster as an animated space raccoon, is there. Gurira's name is among the small-font actors at the bottom.

It's fair to say fans noticed.

Black women always get the short end of the stick. Why isn’t @DanaiGurira’s name on here but everyone else’s is? Literally everyone else but her. Tf?! 😒 https://t.co/zWeciVk4W2

I didn’t even notice that Danai’s name wasn’t on the poster. I bet she’s hardly even in the movie but they just wanted to use her image to help diversify the poster. SMH pic.twitter.com/oTEg6qoOBY
