While the wait is nearly over for the third season, there was a bit more time taken in between this latest one and Season 2 than between the first two seasons. Season 1 debuted in July of 2016, while Season 2 hit in October of 2017.

Cindy Holland, Netflix's Vice President of Original Content, spoke on the delay by offering a pretty good explanation while praising the minds behind the show.

"Well, it’s a hand-crafted show," she said back in July. "You know, the Duffer brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard and they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. And so, they really want to take the time to get it right. I think it’s gonna be a fantastic season, it’s gonna be worth the wait."
