Yeezy model and Bad Girls Club alum Shannade Clermont pled guilty to fraud after being arrested for going on a shopping spree with a dead man’s credit card information, according to The Blast.
The model and IG famous twin was apprehended back in July, after she racked up $20,000 in charges on the accounts of a man she agreed to meet with for sex on Jan. 31. The man was later found dead in his apartment, and police ruled his death an overdose. They found drugs, a condom, the man's wallet, and his phone in the room where he died.
A doorman also told investigators he saw Clermont hours before the man's body was discovered, using the pseudonym “Audrey.” She reportedly used the money to pay her rent and phone bill, buy plane tickets, and make online purchases “of thousands of dollars of clothing and other merchandise.”
Clermont was indicted on three felony counts, including wire fraud, access device fraud, and aggravated identity theft. She pled guilty only to wire fraud, making a deal to have the other two charges dropped. “This case demonstrates that in reality, those who commit debit card fraud will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” U.S. attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said in court on Thursday.
The 24-year-old heads to sentencing on Feb. 13, and could face up to 20 years in a federal prison for wire fraud. Clermont will likely be made to pay back restitution of up to $55,000.
Until then, the twins continue to live their life on IG.
