Comic book and superhero lovers across the globe are grieving following the news that Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee died this morning at the age of 95.
Throughout his tenure as Marvel’s president and chairman, Lee helped create some of the biggest superheroes still appearing on the big screen today, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther, and the Fantastic Four. He’s also made a number of cameos in the modern-day film adaptations of his comic book heroes.
"No one has had more of an impact on my career and everything we do at Marvel Studios than Stan Lee," Marvel president Kevin Feige tweeted. "Stan leaves an extraordinary legacy that will outlive us all."
Some of Marvel's biggest actors, including Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey Jr, and Chris Evans, went on social media to mourn the late icon.
