Pete Davidson first became famous as SNL’s young, stoner cast member, before later getting engaged to one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. In a new interview with Variety, the actor and comedian dishes on his complicated journey to stardom, from the death of his father, to struggling with mental health and Crohn's disease, to his ultimate role on SNL and fairytale relationship with Ariana Grande.

Being one of entertainment’s premiere power couples comes with intense media coverage and internet attention that Davidson typically dislikes. But there’s one comment-turned-meme about the 24-year-old that became so...big, well he couldn’t help but enjoy it. We’re of course talking about Davidson’s alleged “big dick energy” that snowballed into a viral meme and even bigger discussion thanks to the Cut’s Allison P. Davis. He even shared a screenshot of the story a few months back on his Instagram.

“I don’t hate it,” Davidson told Variety, without divulging if the meme is true or not. “I’m just really, really happy, and if that means I have big-dick energy, then sick.”

More entertaining is his mom’s reaction to the attention. She seems to confirm that well, some things just run in the family. “My favorite thing was my mom was like, ‘Peter, they’re saying you had a big penis just like your father.’ What the fuck!” he said.

But unfortunately the bad outweighed the good when it came to his online presence, and Davidson later shut down his social media accounts because of nasty comments from trolls and Grande's overzealous fans. “The internet is evil, and I don’t like how it affects me,” he said. “I don’t like how the internet is a place where anybody can shit on you and make anything up. I’ve worked really hard to get my brain to this place. I can’t go online like everybody else because it’s just a fuck-fest. And now I get to enjoy my life.”
