Pete Davidson Says 'Nobody Gave a Sh*t' About Him Before He Got Together With Ariana Grande

Pete Davidson thinks the only reason he's getting more attention lately is because he started dating "super-famous person' Ariana Grande. But he still says he's the "luckiest guy in the world.'"

Pete Davidson is a star in his own right, one of the youngest comedians to ever join Saturday Night LiveBut Davidson said he found a whole new level of stardom when he started dating (and quickly got engaged to) Ariana Grande.

"I gotta tell you, up until about two months ago, if someone wrote about me, I saw it," he said in an interview with GQ. "Nobody gave a shit two months ago, so anytime there was an article, I would obviously see it, because my mom would send it to me and be like, 'Yaaay!'" But now the 24-year-old comedian says he can't keep up with all the news about him.

As a matter of fact, Davidson says he doesn't think GQ would be talking to him either if it weren't for his ties to the pop star. "It's all bullshit. GQ wouldn't hit me up if I didn't recently get engaged to a super-famous person," he said. "Nobody gives a shit, you know what I mean?"

But having Grande in his life seems to be an even tradeoff with the paparazzi and new-found attention. "The universe works in weird ways," he said. "All I know is that I'm the luckiest guy in the world."

The two started dating in May. But it was only a month later when Davidson asked the "God Is a Woman" singer to marry him with a $93,000 pear-shaped diamond, according to gossip sites. Although Davidson says he doesn't know when the wedding is going to be, it's "definitely going to happen, for sure." Davidson is also slated to star in a comedy film, Big Time Adolescence.
