Jordan Peele Signs First Look TV Deal With Amazon Studios

Jordan Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions just signed a first-look TV deal with Amazon Studios, with a Nazi-hunting drama series and a Lorena Bobbitt documentary serving as the first two projects of this new relationship.

Academy Award-winning director Jordan Peele just signed a first-look TV deal alongside his Monkeypaw Productions with Amazon Studios

According to Deadline, Peele’s Nazi-hunting drama series recently found a home at Amazon, with a Lorena Bobbitt documentary up next. Since we're all very big fans of his feature-film debut, Get Out, it's noteworthy to mention that Peele's movie deal remains firmly at Universal Pictures for now.

“Jordan, [Monkeypaw president] Win Rosenfeld, and the Monkeypaw team represent the ideal creative collaboration as we continue to ramp up original, culturally relevant and riveting television,” said Head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke. “Our Lorena Bobbitt documentary and series order for The Hunt represent just the start of what will be a prolific and exciting relationship with Monkeypaw.”

Peele founded Monkeypaw in 2012 and produced the Emmy-winning Comedy Central sketch series Key & Peele through it for all five seasons. Most recently, Monkeypaw is responsible for producing the Tracy Morgan and Tiffany Haddish-starring TBS show, The Last O.G.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this new relationship with Amazon,” said Peele. “They’ve been a fantastic partner to Monkeypaw over the last year because they’re committed to the same kind of fun and culturally-relevant television we are.”
