Pete Davidson on the Time Donald Trump Faked a Phone Call at 'Saturday Night Live'

Trump faking a phone call to boost his ego? Davidson says that's what went down.

On this week’s episode of Open Late, comedian Pete Davidson reveals a wildly amusing—and totally believable—story about Donald Trump’s 2015 Saturday Night Live appearance.

During his sit-down with host Peter Rosenberg, Davidson describes a bizarre incident that occurred in the days leading up to then-candidate Trump’s hosting gig.

“He was, like, weird all week. He, like, faked a phone call during the table read,” Davidson said, before re-enacting the alleged phony call. “He was like, ‘Hello.’ He goes, ‘Fantastic. OK great.’ And then he hung up and he goes, ‘Hey, everybody! My book just went No. 1!’ I swear on my life. We were all, like, ‘Yo, that phone didn’t ring.”
