Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One topped the box office its debut weekend. The Warner Bros. production raked in $53 million over the four-day weekend from 4,324 locations, according to Variety.

The VR-centered sci-fi received early positive reviews. It currently has an A- CinemaScore and 76 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Internationally, the film snagged $128 million, making its worldwide debut a total of $181.2 million. The film is based on a novel by Ernest Cline and stars Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, Mark Rylance, Simon Pegg, and T.J. Miller. The film previously screened at SXSW and was met with praise.

Ready Player One is followed by Tyler Perry’s Acrimony, which made $17 million over the weekend.

Black Panther secured the No. 3 spot at the box office, making $11 million over the weekend. The Marvel hit also crossed the $650 million threshold in the North American box office. It’s now the fifth-highest release in the U.S. of all time, behind Jurassic World at $652 million and Titanic with $659 million.
