The 2017 remake of It was a hit at the box office that immediately had fans eager for a sequel. According to Deadline, both Bill Hader and James McAvoy are in early talks to join the Adult Losers' Club for the second rendition of the horror franchise.

Based on the report, Hader would take on the role of Richie, while McAvoy would be playing Bill. If the talks come to fruition, the two familiar actors would be joining Jessica Chastain, who will be playing Beverly, and Bill Skarsgard, returning to his role as Pennywise. Skarsgard is not the only one returning from the original film's cast and crew, Andy Muschietti will be back at the helm to direct the upcoming sequel and the children from the It cast are expected to make cameos in flashback scenes as well.

Someone that's certainly happy about the prospect of Hader assuming the role of Richie is YouTuber P. Parker. Last month, the creator posted a fan-made trailer that showed Hader playing Richie. Hader, a notable Saturday Night Live alum, currently stars on HBO's Barry series, while McAvoy's more notable recent appearance came as the lead of another 2017 horror hit, Split.

The sequel to the film adaptation of Stephen King's classic horror novel will be set 27 years after the events of the first film and depict a story of the close group of friends having to deal with the terrifying clown Pennywise during adulthood. It 2 is currently slated for a Sept. 6, 2019 theatrical release date with production set to begin this summer.
