The first trailer for Hotel Artemis, the directorial debut from screenwriter/producer Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3Mission: Impossible  Rogue Nation), has arrived. It's set in Los Angeles in the near future and will see Jodie Foster take her first acting role since 2013's Elysium, playing head nurse and overseer at a members-only hospital for criminals in the riot-torn city.

This action-heavy thriller is led by a stacked cast including Jeff Goldblum, Sterling K. Brown, Atlanta's Brian Tyree Henry, Sofia Boutella, Charlie Day, Dave Bautista, and Jenny Slate. In the trailer, we're introduced to the underground world of criminals that seek refuge at the Hotel Artemis. Foster's character already looks pretty badass, running her no-nonsense establishment where admittance comes with an unspoken code of decorum. Foster gives an ominous one-liner explaining the hush-hush policy: "This hospital was built on two things: trust, and rules."

Tensions and tempers run high in a hotel housing impulsive criminals, but rules like "no weapons" and "no killing each other" keep guests in check, hopefully.

Hotel Artemis is out in theaters June 8.
