Tiffany Haddish made her first appearance at the 2018 Oscars tonight, and she showed up on the red carpet with a special outfit to honor her Eritrean heritage. “My father is from Eritrea, and he passed away last year,” she explained to Michael Strahan. “And he said, one day I would end up here, and if I ever end up at the Oscars to honor my people, so I’m honoring my fellow Eritreans.”
This past Thursday, Haddish revealed that there was still some uncertainty surrounding her dress for the Oscars. "I’m still working on this Sunday Oscar dress problem,” she admitted to People at the Cadillac Celebrates Oscar Week event. “It’s going to be something, I know that much." It turned out that Tiffany's touching tribute to her father, and their Eritrean roots was something special, and people are in love with it.
