"Forget about the butt-hurt fanboys who are just mad the movie isn't closer to the ones they wrote in their heads."

The Screen Junkies team is back with the latest installment of their satirical Honest Trailers series, and they've turned their critical eye on Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

This time around, Star Wars fans themselves are the butt of the joke. While The Last Jedi was another commercial success for the franchise, some obsessive fans went as far as to create a petition to erase the film from the Star Wars canon. Playing on this idea, Screen Junkies say, "In a polarized world, the next installment in a franchise all about balance and non-attachment will be worshipped, hated, and obsessed about until it's not even fun to talk about anymore: It's Star Wars: The Last Jedi."

"Forget about the butt-hurt fanboys who are just mad the movie isn't closer to the ones they wrote in their heads, because there are still all the old favorites," the voice over points out with a deadpan delivery.

The six-minute trailer goes on to trash the film's predictable story arc and unanswered questions, calling The Last Jedi "the worst Star Wars film ever."

This continues a recent trend of second-hand interpretations about the film. Last week, a team of Lego masters condensed the film's entire two and a half hour runtime into a two-minute version. You can watch that below.
