Whether you live in a state with legalized medical marijuana or not, the last person most people think about when they're trying to roll up is their mom, but actress Charlize Theron and her mother share a similar interest. The Oscar winner visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night to reveal that her mom, Gerda, is basically her supplier after they were both on the hunt for a weed strain that could help their shared sleep pattern issues.

Theron admits that she was previously a heavy weed smoker, but when it started to have an adverse effect, that smoking "just wasn't fun anymore." Her previous experiences led her to suggest using it to address her and her mother's sleep problems. "We were talking about it, because we do take sleep medication and I was saying to her, 'Maybe we should try a sleeping strain, something that could help us with sleep.' And she’s like, 'Yes, yes,'" the actress recalled. She went on to tell host Jimmy Kimmel that she assumed she'd be the one picking up the green, but that's not how it turned out.

"Last week she showed up at my house—literally drove in her little tennis outfit and brought me a little container and just left it on my kitchen table," she said. "And she was like, 'So, I got some blueberry-covered chocolate ones, but if you want it faster-acting, you should go for the mint, because those you suck, and it works faster.'" Thinking her mom had gone to buy it with some of  "really cool young girls" she plays tennis with, she had actually bought it on her own. "She goes, 'Pfft! I went to the store by myself,'" Theron said. "I have this image of her in the store—like, she’s just not this kind of person, and buying marijuana, and she was like, 'And they tried to give me all sorts of lollipops!' She had like, a full experience."

Thankfully, the strain Theron's mom got for the two of them proved to be a hit. “It worked! It was amazing," Theron said. "Incredible.”
