Bill Maher opened this week’s episode of Real Time With Bill Maher by firing a lot of shots at the Trump administration during his monologue. Maher needled President Donald Trump over the recent firings of former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe by calling the administration the “Trump White House and Casino.”
Then Maher targeted Donald Trump Jr., who made news this week when his soon-to-be-ex-wife Vanessa filed for divorce.
“Even Trump wives are starting to leave,” Maher joked. “Don Jr.’s wife filed for divorce. She’s citing irreconcilable douche-iness. She says she wants to see other creeps.”
For a brief moment, it appeared Maher might be throwing the least bit of sympathy in Trump’s direction as he noted, “It’s sad… we don’t know why they broke up.”
Then the skewering continued, as you can see in the above video at the 3:45-mark.
“You never really know with a couple, right?” Maher said. “But I’m gonna go with Hope Hicks.”
Trump’s eldest child’s past isn’t one that has garnered him any sympathy with the press. Trump Jr. was accused of promising Julian Assange a job in exchange for helping Donald Trump win the 2016 Presidential Election. And a cursory Google search of Trump Jr. yields headlines such as “Donald Trump Jr.’s Incredible History of Dumb Decisions” and “Donald Trump Jr. Spent Halloween Being a Dumb Goon.”
Given that Trump Jr. has given off the vibe of someone who doesn’t fundamentally understand institutional racism or why an impoverished person could have the audacity to smile, he may continue getting dragged via all forms of media as his divorce plays out in the public eye.
